ULF - Pilot operation on practise-oriented school research

The University of Gothenburg has together with Karlstad University, Uppsala University and Umeå University been commissioned by the Swedish Government to conduct a pilot operation on practise-oriented school research during the period 2017 – 2021 to contribute to an improved scientific ground in the teacher education and in the school system.

The pilot operation is called ULF, which in Swedish is an acronym for Utveckling (Development), Lärande  (Learning) and Forskning (Research).

The purpose of the pilot operation is to develop and try different models for long-term cooperation between academia and the school system. The pilot operation will therefore be conducted in cooperation with the school system.

Several methods for cooperation

Examples of methods for cooperation are agreements on combined positions for teachers with research skills; opportunities for teachers to participate in research projects; and shared forums for researchers, teachers and school managers where research and development needs can be identified and form a ground for joint projects.
